I’ve been thinking a bit this past week about my last race performance in Oceanside and thought I better write about it as I am off to another race this weekend: New Orleans! Wahooooo!

Its been 2 weeks since Ironman Arizona. It was my fastest Ironman to date - 9 hours and 5 minutes. A very satisfying end to my 2010 season.

Its been nearly a week since the Ironman World Championships and I have had some time to reflect on my 12th place finish.

Calgary 70.3 Race Report- (From Chris Corbin’s Perspective)

I bring a fly rod to every race. I’ve even caught a blue fin trevally on the fly the night before the world championships in Kona. Although some races fish better than others; Calgary and the Bow River is one of the best. I was crushed when this race didn’t show up on Linsey’ s original 2010 race schedule. Luckily, some strategic talk (begging) made Linsey a late entry for the Calgary 70.3. Here’s how it went down:

I have had a few weeks to reflect on my special day at IMCDA.

Unfortunately, I got pretty sick after the race. Last week I took one for the team and got on antibiotics. It was rough. Rather than enjoying myself post-Ironman, I spent the 4th of July laid up in bed. Leading up to the race I had day dreams involving the river, enjoying icy-cold Big Sky Brews in a can, camping, sunshine. None of this really happened :(.

Racing in Boise over the weekend was a complete bonus for me.

Early in the season when plotting my race schedule, Boise was at the top of the list. So was Ironman Coeur D’Alene… I guess you could say I love the neighboring state of Idaho. I didn’t want to compromise the Ironman, so I opted to race in Kansas and do the traditional 3-week taper for IMCdA. Kansas came and went, and I was a bit let down with my result. I knew I could kick it up another notch. Post-race in Kansas, Matt Dixon surprised me with a text message with the words *BOISE 70.3* in it and I was grinning from ear-to-ear.

Not one to shy away from fear, pain, challenges and stiff competition I spent the past two weekends racing the two reigning world champions in two half-Ironman events 5 days apart. Each race presented itself with a unique story to share - so we will take this one entry at a time.

I just wanted to give you a quick and dirty (yes - we camped, so we were dirty!) update from the Wildflower triathlon over the weekend. I wish I was reporting in on the dream race that I was planning on, but to sum it up - I pretty much got bucked off the horse. Big time.
