Ironman Champion Linsey Corbin partners with Challenged Athletes Foundation

Ironman Champion Linsey Corbin partners with Challenged Athletes Foundation to auction custom Scott Plasma 3.

Missoula, MT, June 2, 2011–Montana professional triathete Linsey Corbin, regarded as one of the top American Ironman athletes, has announced the donation of her custom 2011 Scott racing bike in cooperation with Scott USA to be auctioned for the Challenged Athletes Foundation’s New York, N.Y. Gala and fundraiser to be held at the Waldorf Astoria June Eighth. The Ironman Coeur D’Alene record-holder’s rig, valued at $10,000, was custom made for the Missoula-based Corbin by the Sun Valley, Idaho company and is one of two such models in existence.

Of CAF, the organization which benefits handicapped athletes in numerous pursuits, Corbin said, “Every time I race a triathlon and see a Challenge Athletes Foundation competitor out on the course, I think to myself: “Now, that is impressive.” I’ve always had a fondness in my heart for the CAF athletes and what they stand for: being relentless, inspiring, hard-working, and resilient, as well as a regard for their unwaveringly positive attitudes.”

The New York Gala, called A Celebration of Heroes, Heart and Hope, will feature a number of world class athletes including NFL Receiver Amani Toomer and reigning Ironman world champion Chris McCormack as well as Corbin, an Ironman Champion in her own right.

Corbin handed kudos to Scott, a company with which she has worked closely since 2008, a season in which she finished fifth at the Ironman World Championship. Corbin said, I am excited to partner up with such a great organization and Scott Bicycles to support this great cause. I had the opportunity to ride this same custom-painted Scott Plasma 3 to a top-15 placing at Ironman Hawaii, a second place (course record breaking) finish at the 2010 Ironman Arizona, a win at the Pucon 70.3, and two top-10 70.3 finishes in California and New Orleans. I hope the brand-new bike we are auctioning off will bring someone the same speed, enjoyment, great memories, albeit a little bit of blood, sweat & tears as it has brought me.”

The brand-new Scott Plasma 3 Limited, which features a custom Linsey Corbin paint job, features her signature bison skull graphics as well as her “Montana Made” styling and a compliment of parts which match Corbin’s sponsored build including top-end parts from Speedplay, SRAM, Vision and Zipp.
