Happy days.
Ok, so I've been bad about the updates. Blech.
My excuse is happy days. The time and weeks have been going by fast and I have found myself getting back to the more well-rounded life of Linsey Corbin rather than the one-dimensional triathlon life of Linsey Corbin.
My cousin Aaron got married in San Francisco over the weekend to the fabulous Denise. It was a great excuse to get to the city and spend time with my family. This may be one of the rare times that I got to spend the weekend (well, bits and pieces of it at least) with my little family of four - just mom, dad, and sis. No husbands - just the four of us. I am sure if you were to ask my dad, he would prefer to have the male contingent (husbands) around, but he puts up with all the girl talk remarkably well.
Perhaps the highlight of the weekend was the race I got to have on Saturday. The race to the chapel! I brought my bike and run shoes with me hoping to get in some great outdoor riding - and that I did! Saturday morning I met a group in Marin and got an amazing tour of beaches, farm country, Mt. Tam (could be a new favorite hill climb??!!), and little towns along the way. Off the bike it was a quick run and then I was off to get all gussied up. I will be the first to admit, I love me a dress up!!!
To be exact: I left Marin in sweaty spandex at 12:35, was in the shower by 12:55, in cocktail attire sitting in traffic by 1:10, and at the chapel just in time to see the bride/groom get down the aisle. Whew. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank the Grizzly Pool for having cold showers and teaching me to shower fast. I want to thank my mom for my great straight hair that is easy-breezy to style. Kelly (she's from Montana!!) for the shower. San Francisco & your traffic for cooperating on Saturday and Hertz for the speedy car rental.
Sunday I was treated to an amazing run beneath the Golden gate and on the Alcatraz run course, with a quick stop over at Robin Williams house. He wasn't home. Now it is Monday and I am in Seattle. I am here for the week - which I know will be a fun one - shopping! Oh, and some triathlon-ing too.
I have one more race on tap for 2009 - Ironman Arizona. I am feeling good and looking forward to the day. I am also looking forward to the entire pumpkin pie I will get to consume when it is all said and done.
Happy days, people. Happy days! Enjoy the week.
